About Best Decision Wheel

Best Decision Wheel is a free yes or no spinner. Think of a question, tap Spin, and the wheel stops on YES or NO. There’s nothing to sign up for and nothing to download.

Who runs this site

Jeane Sumner runs Best Decision Wheel through Sumner Digital, the Jacksonville, Florida marketing agency she founded in 2011. Her team also runs Website HQ, which builds and looks after WordPress sites for small businesses, so the wheel gets the same care a client’s site does, updates and backups included.

Why we made it, in Jeane’s words: “ADHD runs in our family, and some days even a small decision is hard to make. So we ask the question out loud, spin the wheel, and take the answer. It gets us past the stuck feeling of executive dysfunction, and we keep going.”

How the wheel picks

The wheel has eight slices, four YES and four NO, alternating around the edge. When you tap Spin, your browser picks a random stopping point and the wheel turns three to six full times before it lands there. Every spin is a fair 50/50. The wheel doesn’t remember earlier spins either, so three NOs in a row don’t make a YES more likely on the fourth.

You never type your question anywhere, so we never see it. The answer is worked out in your browser, not on our server.

Good for small choices

Use it for the choices that don’t deserve twenty minutes of thought: tacos or pasta, which chore to do first, one more episode or bed. It’s also a fair way to break a tie between two good options.

Don’t hand it a decision about your health, your money or the law. Those deserve a person who knows your situation.

How the site is paid for

The wheel is free to use. Ads from Google help cover hosting and upkeep.
