What should I do today?

Pick a list and spin. If you can’t get started at all, use Stuck.

When the day won’t start

Some mornings the problem isn’t a lack of things to do. It’s that there are twelve of them, and choosing the first one takes longer than doing it.

Jeane’s family has ADHD in it, and that’s why this site exists. The Stuck list is built for those mornings. Every answer on it takes about five minutes: one email, one dish, a short tidy, a glass of water, a shower, a step outside. None of them is the big thing you’re avoiding. That’s on purpose.

Spin, do the five minutes, and then decide what’s next. Starting is usually the hard part, and the wheel takes the choosing out of it.

How this wheel picks

Each list has six slices, one answer per slice. When you tap Spin, your browser’s random number generator picks where the wheel stops, and the answer is the slice under the pointer. Every answer on a list has the same one in six chance.

We tested our yes or no wheel with a million spins, and we ran the same test on each of these lists. Every answer came up between 16.61% and 16.73% of the time.

The lists

Stuck is for when nothing is happening. Day off is for when you have free time and can’t pick. Chores is for when the house needs work and every job looks equally bad. Get moving is for when you’ve been sitting too long.

Some answers show up on two lists. Walking is a good day off and a good way to get moving.

If you don’t like the answer

Then you already know what you want to do. Go do that. The wheel gave you something to say no to, and that counts.

One respin is fair. After that, do what it says, or close the page and do the thing you were hoping for.

Should I go to work today?

People ask us this one. A wheel can settle a lazy “do I go in early or stay home and work?” It shouldn’t settle the rest.

If you have a fever or something that spreads, stay home. Don’t spin.

If you’re not sure what a missed day costs you, check your work’s sick day rules first. The wheel doesn’t know them.

If it’s a coin flip, though (you’re fine, you’re tired, the drive is long), spin the yes or no wheel and go with it.

Questions people ask

Can I put my own list on the wheel?

Not yet. Pick the list closest to your day. If enough people ask, we’ll add a way to type your own.

Is every answer equally likely?

Yes. Each list has six slices, and each answer gets one slice.

Why is “water” on the Stuck list?

Because it’s the easiest thing on the list to finish, and finishing one thing makes the next one easier to start.

Do you save what I spin?

No. Every spin happens in your browser, and nothing is sent to us.
